- Downloadable PDFs: Each of the three parts offer printable tips and tools to help you make your way as a parent.
- Audio interviews: In Part 3, two principals communicate important ways to support your young teen’s success in school.
-
Articles: Each section has concrete and actionable content that communicates:
- What parents can expect (On Your Mark!)
- What parents need to know (Get Set!)
- What parents can do (Go!)
- Exercises: Deepen the learning and take actions that help you support your middle school student.

Exercises and Journal: Pop up boxes will appear with questions, suggestions, and reflective exercises that are designed to make learning more personal and you more effective as the parent of a middle schooler. Record your thoughts, feelings, and family changes in a journal (on the computer, a simple notebook, or in a journal that you purchase). This allows you to pause, reflect, and plan during this dynamic time. We encourage you to use this time-honored process to enhance your experience with this material.
